BiophiliaThe connection that humans have with nature is real. The connection is deep within our genetics. The connection exists on a mental and physical level. We need nature to be healthy and function properly.
Ancient ArchitectureIn the early days of architecture, nature has been a large part of it. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Floating Gardens in Greece, and the Gardens of Gethsemane are perfect examples of ancient cities that included nature in their designs. It was obvious to architects then that nature was a large part of where they came from, and they understood that there was connection between them and nature.

Back to Our rootsHumans were created within nature. We have lived with it since the beginning of our evolution, or if you believe differently since we were created in the Garden of Eden. Nature is a part of humanity, and an important part at that. However, as we have evolved, or lived in our world for 6000 years, many peoples connection to nature has been lost.
Integrating nature back into our cities is the first step to revitalizing our cities' ecosystem, and creating a healthier and happier place to work and live.
